8th EuroMabNet Meeting and 1st EuroMAbNet’s Antibody Validation Workshop was held in Opatija, Croatia and organized by Center for Proteomics, University of Rijeka Faculty of Medicine. The workshop and meeting were sponsored by EFIS, Labena, Labormed and LKB. The workshop was attended by 50 students and researchers.

Center for Proteomics will take a part in the activities of the Student Day Festival, the biggest student event in Rijeka! On Thursday 26th May at the caffe bar „Bačva“, Dr. Vanda Juranic Lisnic will held popular scientific lecture “What is the immune system?”

On 17th May, Prof. Stipan Jonjic and Dr. Vanda Juranic Lisnic participated in the Symposium and round table „Applied genomics in the Republic of Croatia“ which was held in Zagreb and organized by the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Center for Proteomics will organize Demo day for the start-ups of the second generation of entrepreneurial education which were implemented in cooperation with the STARTUP Incubator of City of Rijeka. Demo Day is organised in frame of the international project „Platform for trans-Academic Cooperation in Innovation“, funded by IPA Adriatic Cross Border Cooperation 2007-2013, and will be held on May 31st in the premises of the Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka.

Center for Proteomics will organize Public Policy Conference that will be held on June 1st at the Science and Technology Park of the University of Rijeka. The Conference is organised in frame of the international project „Platform for trans-Academic Cooperation in Innovation“, funded by IPA Adriatic Cross Border Cooperation 2007-2013. The aim of the Conference is to present the most important project results to the representatives of key institutions of the Croatian innovation system, and to encourage discussion among target gropus through three panel sessions.

On 4th May 2016, Dr. Vanda Juranić Lisnić participated in the popular-scientific debate „Your wondrous immune system – how to protect your body“. More information can be found in the TV broadcast „Hrvatska uživo“.

On 23rd March, Prof. Dr. Tihana Lenac Roviš presented the GlycoVax project – the first H2020 grant at the University of Rijeka, in frame of the Horizon2020 worskhop organised by University of Rijeka and Agency for mobility and EU programmes

Tina Jenus, a young CAPRI researcher and former CAPRI trainee, has been awarded with the Annual Award for the Best Diploma Thesis “Zoran Zgaga” by the Croatian Association of Genetic Engineers (HUGI).

Vanda Juranic Lisnic, a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Proteomics, received the Annual Award of the Croatian Microbiology Society for the best young researcher in 2015.
