Brief description: Infectious diseases cause severe economic losses in the global poultry industry. Thus, there is an urgent need for new vaccines. The aim of the project is to establish a sustainable platform for the development of novel viral vaccine vectors against the major viral pathogens of poultry through joint expertise in veterinary drug and vaccine production (Genera, Inc.) and viral vaccine vector development (Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka). The primary target groups of the project are the research community in academia and industry, and indirectly, poultry farmers and animal health institutions. The consortium will develop and test novel vaccine vectors and research tools, providing a foundation for their translation into practice.
