Marko Sustic obtaind his MD degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka in 2018. In the same year he joined the laboratory of Prof. Stipan Jonjic as a PhD student working on the project “Inflammation and hearing loss following congenital CMV infection”. During his medical studies he was awarded the dean's award for academic excellence.
