Mia Cesarec, PhD
Mia obtained her Master degree in Functional Genomics at the University of Trieste in 2012. The same year she joined The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in Trieste as a young research scientist where she studied the detection of the viral RNA in living cells. A year after she was enrolled in a PhD program in Molecular Virology in ICGEB and in 2017 she obtained a PhD degree studying the evasion of the innate immune response by Hepatitis C virus. Currently she is working on a project investigating the role of NK cell receptors involved in CMV immunoevasion.
